Rob Benavides

Rob Benavides grew up in San Antonio, Texas.  From the time he was little he knew two very important things: He loved tattoos and he was an artist. It would take him into his adulthood to put those two things together to turn him into the incredible tattoo artist he is today.

After leaving San Antonio, Rob found himself in Chicago. Already, he knew he had a love for being tattooed but in Chicago he found an apprenticing position, not an easy thing for most fledgling tattoo artists. However, Rob was no ordinary artist. With years of learning the art of tattooing under his belt, Rob made his way to San Diego and landed at one of the best tattoo parlors at that time. Even then, Rob insists, he was not serious about his trade. The funny part about this is that he was producing some of the most beautiful and innovative art coming out of the San Diego tattoo scene.

On May 5, 2006 Rob opened Flying Panther Tattoo & Gallery. With age and experience, he has taken his tattoo work to a fine art level. He has been the guest tattoo artist at Tattoo City, iron age, Perfection, Tiger Rose, Mr. Lucky’s , Sinner and The Saint, and Masato in Nygoya.
